About the Author
Hi, I’m Robin Gilford and I was born in Reading in the 1960s in a private house owned by a doctor. I was adopted privately, straight afterwards and had a happy adoption with my new parents and their son, who I call my elder brother. I grew up not far from Pangbourne by the River Thames in Berkshire.
After leaving school, I worked in the service industry where I met a varied selection of people, most of whom were lovely.
In the early 2000s, I moved to Torbay, where I managed and ran a hotel with my partner.
I now live near Bude in North Cornwall, and this move prompted my desire to start writing. My other interests include yoga, walking the coast path, gardening and cooking. I live in an eco-house, overlooking the sea, and have created a rustic garden where I relax and write. It is full of bright flowers which the bees love.
My latest novel, The Baby Boy Left Behind is a story about a multi-generational family coming to terms with a most unexpected 60 year secret. The basis is true but the characters and storyline are fiction. Past times and attitudes make this a must read for anyone interested in family relationships.
My first novel ‘No Trace’ commences a trilogy with ‘No Panic’ and ‘No Fear’ following. It is a cosy crime series set in the current time in Cornwall with vivid descriptions of the varied weather and beautiful countryside playing an important role. My characters have appeared from the many people I have met during my careers.
