About the Book
Latest book from Robin Gilford – The Baby Boy Left Behind
The Baby Boy Left Behind deals with time before it was socially acceptable to be an unmarried mother in England. Margaret is one such woman who is told not to bond with her baby. Her father insists that the baby is adopted. The story illustrates her struggles alone and studies the desire by the son, now middle aged, to connect with his mother. She doesn’t reply, racked with guilt. Her daughter and second son know nothing of their half-brother’s existence until after their mother’s passing.
Although fictional, it is based on a true story, the author himself having been adopted in the 1960s. Written with humour, the story has a happy ending.
It will appeal to all those interested in social issues and differing family dynamics.
